The Mobile Talent Hub is a community-wide collaborative designed to increase postsecondary attainment by bringing together Mobile’s K-12, higher education, business, and community partners. The partnership is co-led by Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, the University of South Alabama, the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, and Alabama Possible.
A collaborative program between the University of South Alabama and select partner community colleges- Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. This program provides a smooth transition for students to transfer from community college to the University of South Alabama. While students are attending the community college, they have access to a USA Transfer Advisor, on campus resources to support academic success, attend Jaguar home athletic events and much more.
As partners in this initiative, Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College and University of South Alabama are encouraging students to take 15 credit hours per semester/30 hours year in order to graduate on time through the 15 to Finish Campaign. This campaign is designed to help students TAKE More- make taking more credit hours the norm, SAVE More- lower financial cost for students and EARN More- earn income sooner through on-time graduation.
Bishop State and Coastal Alabama Community Colleges implement best practices in degree reclamation and provide targeted support while re-engaging students who have paused, or “stopped out,” their studies. This work of degree reclamation has been expanded to Gadsden State Community College, Jacksonville State University and University of North Alabama.
